This US-market 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster is one of 823 produced for the model year. It was initially delivered to Anderson-Behel Imports in Santa Clara, California, and was imported in 2009 to Germany, where it was owned by rally and race car driver Walter Röhrl until 2024. Showing 24k miles, the car is finished in black over a leather-to-sample red interior and power is provided by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Modifications a Cargraphic exhaust, ECU chip, and MAF conversion kit. Additional equipment includes 16″ Fuchs wheels, a black soft top, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top cover panel, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, air conditioning, and power-adjustable front seats. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this 911 Speedster is offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and Window Sticker.
The car features widened rear bodywork shared with the contemporary 911 Turbo, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top rear deck, and a shortened windscreen and side windows when compared to the standard Carrera. This example is finished in black with a black soft top, and exterior details include integrated fog lights, a European-specification rear bumper blade, and a single exhaust outlet. The third brake light has been removed.
Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires that have 2021 date codes. The car is equipped with Bilstein dampers in the rear, and braking is handled by black Porsche-script calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.
The red leather-to-sample interior features power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The rear seats were deleted as an option with rear storage boxes instead of seats.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline flanked by a 170-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 24k miles.
The 3.2-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 215 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. A Cargraphic exhaust system, ECU chip, and Mass Air Flow conversion kit have been added. The distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, and spark plugs were replaced in 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Anderson-Behel Imports in Santa Clara, California, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $72.867. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity will accompany the sale. The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
